Chapel Porth being one of my favourite location never fails in offering a challenge, for this Painting I wanted to go back to something with less foreground giving more emphasis on space, I had to fight my urge not to do this & once in the flow with it it quickly developed its own rhythm.
Although seamingly simpler, the cliffs portion every time always proves really difficult & the sandy mid to foreground creates its own challenges as the shades & tones are very subtle from one to another & I even painted grains of sand in the foreground to create more depth & texture, I’m very happy with the final result & the original has already found a new home.
This original as with all my large originals will be framed using Tru-View Ultra-View glass, an Ash frame, a deep bevel mount and conversation mountboard.
The image size of the original is 355mm x 767mm, framed it measures approx. 575mm x 985mm. Prints will be available at 3 different sizes & will appear in Gallery 2 when available.
This original is now sold but Prints are available.
