Description
This is Spring Shadows, Stile towards Porthmeor. There are so many amazing Stiles in West Penwith that I find it really hard which one to choose from my, now extensive, collection of Stiles reference. This is a new one for me and its a big Stile, it is situated a short walk from Porthmeor Cove up the valley next to the old mine workings of Porthmeor, the National Trust have just finished conserving the area so its worth a visit to see the old buildings and remnants of the water wheal which would have sat in the stream.
This was captured one sunny Spring afternoon as the shadows began to lengthen, I always love the way the light falls on the granite of these magnificent Stiles though it often creates difficult lighting and shadows areas but after lots of work i’m so pleased with it to have it now all framed and finished.
I hand prep each of my canvases which involves 4 layers of Gesso with sanding in between each layer
The Acrylics I use, ‘Golden’ & Liquitex’ are all of Artists quality and meet the industry ATSM lightfastness standards
It is framed with a lovely Ash wood moulding with a light Liming, the mount used is Peterboro Glacier White Conservation on top of an extra deep matching wood fillet, it really sets it off well.
The size of the image of this original is 241mm x 343mm approx and framed it measures 425 x 530mm
No prints of this will currently be available so at present it is available just as an original
