Sailing through, towards Pordenack Point

Acrylic on Canvas Painting

Description

This is a location I’ve visited many times & always been in awe at the sheer height & scale of the cliffs. The light only does this particular effect at a certain time window in the morning, before, & the main cliff is too much in shadow & after there’s too much light so I wanted to capture when the shadows form across these magnificent cliffs near Lands End. I was lucky on this occasion that the sea was calm & a sailing boat was passing through, which I like as it adds a degree of scale & a sense of romanticism of where it had been & where it was heading.

Another appeal for me was the fantastic textures & colours of all the varying forms of fauna from Heather to the vast array of wonderful Lichens festooned across the Granite boulders perched high on the cliff edge.

The image size of this Painting is 450 x 590mm, when framed it will measure 640 x 780mm, it will be framed in Ash with Tru-View Ultra View anti-reflection, enhanced clarity & UV protection.
