Description

This is a view in this orientation I have wanted to paint for a long time, over the years from my early childhood I must have precariously clambered on the rocks between the coves many many times so it holds a lot of memories for me, often in the hope of catching that large fish but usually ended up coming away with an empty crab shell or small Goby fish.

I knew this was going to be a challenge but didn’t really envisage quite what a challenge it would be, but I like testing myself so in I plunged. With the multiple layers of rock, the differing colours, depths, and effects of the challenge that water can bring I’m very happy to have completed it. It took many many hours of layering and adjusting to get it balalnced with the background & foreground as the morning light makes capturing that atmosphere very challenging.

Being the largest size I currently do it will be framed using an Ash moulding, a deep bevel fillet, Peterboro Conservation Glacier White Mountboard & Tru-View Ultra View glass, anti reflective, more clarity and UV protection

The image size is 355m x 767mm

The outside edge measurement of the frame moulding is 573 x 985mm

This original as of May 2nd will be at the printers for print production which usually takes a week or so & will then be available in Gallery 2. It will then be framed

This Original is now SOLD
