Gary Hall Art

Gary Hall was born in Truro in 1974. On leaving school he studied at Falmouth Art College where a National Diploma in Illustration was achieved and then onto Plymouth where a Higher National Diploma was attained. Since leaving College Gary became self employed producing work for various different publishers.

As well as continuing with the specialist field of
Pet Portraits, just over 4 years ago he decided to try a new subject matter, Landscapes, having become despondent in producing industry artwork where there was no leeway for personal interpretation.

He has always had a love of the countryside, and these past four years or so have been so rewarding artistically, getting out into nature at
all hours of the day to capture that unique moment frozen in time.

His choice of Medium at present is Acrylic for Landscapes and Gouche/Acrylic for Pet Portraits. His technique for both mediums is to work them
up in layers, a time consuming process but which give depth to the finished work. His work is quite detailed as you’ll see, he believes nature is “pretty near perfect “and so tries to capture this within his style.

His continued aim is to progress and develop, wishing to further experiment with subject in terms of location, lighting and composition. He is looking forward to another enjoyable year of growth, learning and development.

Gary now exhibits at various shows, as well as his permanent display of work in St.Agnes Cornwall with his partner.
